Question of the week?
Corporate social responsibility
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is about companies moving beyond a base of legal compliance to integrating their core values and goals, socially and responsibly into their day to day activity.
The recruitment industry can have a tremendous impact in the way that companies are staffed now and in the future by affecting diversity, community interaction and making businesses a ‘great place to work’.
The Government's approach to this is to encourage & incentivise the adoption and reporting of CSR through best practice guidance and where appropriate, intelligent regulation and fiscal incentives such as:
-
Pensions Act Amendment
-
Transparency
-
Companies Act 2006
As a company, Crone Corkill adopts best practice where possible, and builds objectives to improve the way we manage our business.
- We have developed a strong Diversity Policy, enrolling actual activity into our resourcing strategy whilst creating partners with diversity organisations.
- We give back to future generations – volunteering in local schools, fulfilling work experience requests and hosting fundraising events for our company-wide chosen charities. These activities take place during working hours.
- We spend up to one third of our lives in work, so 2006 saw our highly successful inaugural Wellness Week. This has become a regular event in our social calendar – featuring a number of activities including: ‘pamper packs’, quit smoking seminars and massages for our employees, to name but a few.
