Is this the role for you?

We are recruiting an experienced Commercial Litigation Secretary to join a highly regarded London law firm on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role supports a busy Commercial Litigation team, working with fee earners from junior through to senior level, and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven legal environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, detail-focused legal secretary with strong litigation experience who enjoys variety, responsibility, and working as part of a collaborative team.

What you will do:

You will support the Commercial Litigation team with a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties, including client onboarding, AML and KYC checks, sanctions screening, and processing monies in and out. You’ll coordinate the monthly billing process, prepare detailed time narratives, draft client correspondence on behalf of Partners, and complete accounts documentation.

The role also involves creating, amending, formatting, and converting documents into house style, preparing litigation bundles and PDF binders, producing attendance notes, and assisting with telephone cover as part of a rota system. Accuracy, organisation, and discretion are essential throughout.

What you’ll bring:

You will have at least 4 years’ legal secretarial experience, ideally within a litigation environment, with a solid understanding of litigation workflows. Strong document production skills, excellent written English, and confidence liaising with clients and third parties are key.

You’ll be proactive, calm under pressure, highly organised, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines with minimal supervision. Proficiency in legal systems such as Word, iManage, BigHand, Workshare Compare, Outlook, and Excel is required.

Why apply?

This is a great opportunity to join a respected London law firm known for its professional culture, high-quality work, and collaborative teams. The role offers exposure to complex litigation matters within a supportive and well-structured environment.
