Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of residential property transactions from instruction through to post-completion.
- Handle:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Remortgages
- Transfers of Equity
- New Build transactions
- Shared Ownership matters
- Right to Buy transactions
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts and legal documentation.
- Investigate title and prepare comprehensive reports for clients.
- Review searches, raise enquiries and resolve title issues.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and third parties to ensure transactions progress smoothly.
- Provide practical legal advice and maintain excellent communication throughout each transaction.
- Prepare completion statements and oversee financial aspects of matters.
- Complete post-completion work, including Land Registry applications and Stamp Duty submissions.
- Maintain accurate case records using the firm’s case management system.
- Ensure full compliance with AML regulations, professional standards and internal procedures.
Essential
- Previous experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload independently.
- Strong knowledge of residential conveyancing procedures and property law.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters effectively.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and conveyancing case management systems.
- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
- Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, Chartered Legal Executive or experienced Conveyancing Fee Earner.
- Minimum of two years’ experience managing residential property transactions.
- Experience with Land Registry applications and SDLT submissions.
- Good understanding of lender requirements and mortgage processes.
- A professional and client-focused attitude.
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and commercial awareness.
