Description of role:
An established multi-office law firm is looking to recruit a Care Paralegal to join its busy Bedford office. This role would suit a motivated and compassionate individual with experience or a strong interest in public family law and care proceedings.
Working closely with experienced solicitors, the successful candidate will assist on a varied caseload involving Children Act matters and provide both legal and administrative support within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Assisting solicitors with care proceedings and public family law matters
- Preparing legal documents, witness statements, and correspondence
- Attending client meetings and taking instructions
- Liaising with courts, counsel, local authorities, and external agencies
- Managing file administration and ensuring compliance requirements are met
- Assisting with legal aid applications and billing processes
- Providing high levels of client care and support throughout proceedings
- Supporting the wider team with administrative and legal tasks where required
- Previous paralegal experience within Care, Family, or Public Law desirable
- Knowledge of legal aid funding processes advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
- Ability to work proactively and manage competing priorities
- Professional, reliable, and client-focused approach
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
