Key Responsibilities
- Acting as legal and procedural advisor to regulatory and disciplinary committees
- Attending committee meetings and acting as Secretary to panels
- Ensuring committee decisions are legally sound, consistent and procedurally fair
- Reviewing and refining decision drafts to ensure robust legal reasoning
- Identifying and mitigating legal and procedural risk in regulatory processes
- Providing legal advice to case managers and investigation teams
- Managing and mentoring members of the legal team
- Supporting governance, policy development and regulatory best practice
- Qualified lawyer with post-qualification experience
- Background in regulatory law, professional discipline, tribunals or committee environments
- Strong understanding of procedural fairness and public law principles
- Experience advising senior stakeholders and decision-making panels
- Proven leadership or team management experience
- Excellent written communication and the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly
- Experience working within a professional or financial regulator
- Familiarity with fitness to practise or disciplinary frameworks
- Experience supporting tribunals, panels or regulatory committees
- Contract role
- Hybrid working (London)
